30 Hour Famine 2007
February 10-11, 2007

The 30-Hour Famine weekend to raise money for World Vision was February 10 & 11. Zion and Trinity High School youth energized with compassion, rather than food, consumed only water and fruit juices as they focused on activities that remind them of the purpose of their fasting and fundraising.

Saturday morning the youth helped at the Milaca Food Pantry. Later they went to Milaca Super Valu shopping to see how they would feed a family of 4 for $5.00 (this was interesting to see – with many different ideas). Pastor showed a video on hunger and had a group discussion. They talked about the 30-Hour Famine and hunger facts. They made posters and paper chains with 29,000 links to represent the number of people that die each day from hunger & related diseases.

For fun they played Bible trivia (this was played every couple of hours for prizes), watched videos, played games, and socialized while drinking water and juice

All of the youth and adults that were involved with the 30 Hour Famine would like to thank the people of the congregation for their support.  They raised over $400, with more money still coming in, for World Vision to help stop world hunger.  We appreciate your financial contributions toward this cause as well as all the juice and water that was donated.
