Prayer Shawl Pattern


Materials: 3 skeins Lion Brand Homespun Yarn - chose any color
Knitting needles size 10 1/2 - 15

Finished Size: about 24" X 60"

Knit version:
Cast on 57 stitches
K3, P3 across every row
When you have knit through 2 skeins, make fringe from 3rd skein, then keep knitting until yarn is used up.
Fringe: Cut about 99 strands of yarn 9-12 inches long for each end of shawl. Use 3 strands together, fold in half and pull folded end through spaces across narrow ends of shawl. Pull ends through loop and pull tight to knot. To space the fringe- divide shawl in half, then quarters and eighths and fill in evenly spaced across both ends.

Crochet version:
Use size N or P hook
Chain 43 loosely. Half-double crochet in 3rd chain from hook and each chain across. Next row - half-double in each half double across and repeat until 2 skeins are used. Cut fringe as for knit version, then crochet the rest of the yarn.
