ZAK = Zion's Amazing Kids

Years ago ZAK was alive and well, and then it wasn't. Don't you think it is about time we brought it back to life? ZAK is a ministry for our primary school age kids in grades 1-6. The goal is simple, to provide fun and faithful fellowship opportunities for our youth. In order for this to happen we need your help! If you are curious, interested, excited and motivated to see this happen--contact Pastor Blenkush and he will set up an organizing meeting to do some preliminary planning and organization. This is a great opportunity for youth and parents and grandparents to spend some time together with others and share the love of Jesus!

Blessing of the Backpacks
 September 9th

Attention all Kindergarten students! Before you begin the new adventure of heading off to school we want to take time to bless you during worship on Sunday, Sept. 9th. We hope you can make it!
My Bible Class
September 11th & 18th

Attention all 3rd Graders…on Sunday, Sept. 9th we want to give you a Bible, yep, your very own Bible to read, study and help you grow in faith. And…to help all that reading, studying and growing…we have a class for you too! Tuesdays after school at 3:30-4:30 p.m. with Pastor Blenkush. Parents and grandparents you are invited to come and participate as well if you are able. You will learn the basics about the Old and New Testament and read some of the great Bible stories together. You won’t want to miss this! Please contact the Church Office if your child is planning to attend. 983-3368

Sunday School Quilt Drawing - As part of their Service Sunday opportunities, Zion Sunday School students, with the planning and assistance of quilters Carole Kiel and Nancy Hoskins, pieced and tied two quilts.  As part of our 125th Anniversary efforts to retire the debt, we offered $1 opportunities to take home one of these quilts and be forever wrapped in the love and warmth of our Zion Lutheran Sunday School students! The quilkts were won by Avaand Noah!

On March 11th, we made Resurection Gardens with round pans, potting soil, Dixie cups, rocks, crosses, and "grass." Here are some photos of our gardening.

Camp Onomia

Camperships / Camp Onomia – We hope that you will be able to join us for Wednesday evening Soup Suppers during the Lenten Season. A freewill offering during these suppers are designated towards our campership funds. So… speaking of camp…it’s not too early to start thinking about registering for summer camp. We are very fortunate to have been able to offer a campership to all those attending a church camp in the past. Zion sponsors Camp Onomia and early bird discounts need to be in by March 15. Camp Onomia offers themed programs for all ages and for families, too! Brochures and campership request forms can be picked up at church. Contact, Pastor Steve, the church office, or Jenny Niedzielski if you have any question about this.

Camperships! In order to make Bible Camp available to every kid, camperships are available to help defray the cost of camp for our students. Pick up a green Campership Request Form in Centennial Hall, fill it out, and return it to the Church Office. Camperships pay for half the cost of camp up to $100 for weekend or half-week camp, or up to $200 for  a week-long camp. Our Lutheran Bible Camps are a great way to nurture and cultivate the faith in our youth
